Tradeshow Concepts and 3D Design
Project Type
Concept and 3D Design
Role
Designer
Applied Underwriters participates in national tradeshows to showcase its insurance products and engage directly with agents, brokers, and partners. For this project, I designed the tradeshow booth concepts for EOS and Album Life Assurance, translating each brand’s identity into a cohesive physical presence within an 8’ x 10’ booth constraint.
The objective was to create a visually compelling, on-brand environment that clearly communicated each product’s value while standing out in a crowded tradeshow setting.

Scope of Work
This project spanned concept development through fabrication-ready design, requiring both creative and technical execution.
My responsibilities included:
-
Tradeshow concept design and spatial planning
-
3D modeling and layout visualization
-
Environmental branding and physical brand translation
-
Backdrop, signage, and large-format graphic design
-
Furniture, flooring, and material selection
-
Photoshop mockups and AutoCAD / Fusion 360 modeling
-
Fabrication-ready drawings and contractor instructions
-
Design of a custom interactive installation
The Challenge
Designing a tradeshow booth required balancing creativity with real-world constraints. The primary challenge was translating established digital brand systems into a cohesive physical environment within a strict 8’ x 10’ footprint, while ensuring the concepts were visually impactful, buildable, and scalable. Additional complexity came from coordinating materials, layouts, and interactive elements like the custom Plinko-Pop game, all of which needed to be precisely documented for fabrication and execution without on-site iteration.
Designing a high-impact booth within a strict size constraint
Ensuring visual clarity in a fast-paced, high-traffic environment
Translating complex product offerings into clear, physical messaging
Creating designs that were both creative and fabrication-ready

Brand Context
Album Life Assurance focuses on advanced life insurance underwriting informed by life sciences and biotechnology, requiring a refined, credible, and forward-looking presentation.
EOS is a healthcare access and technology platform designed to simplify Medicare plan selection, positioned as an innovative, industry-defining solution for independent agents.
Each booth needed to reflect its brand’s personality while maintaining consistency with Applied Underwriters’ overall visual standards.
Design Approach
Tradeshow Concept & 3D Visualization
I designed the full booth experience from the ground up, working within strict spatial constraints to ensure clarity, balance, and visibility from multiple angles. Using 3D modeling tools, I visualized the entire environment including backdrops, displays, furniture, and circulation to ensure the concepts were both visually strong and physically feasible.

Brand-to-Environment Translation
Existing website imagery, typography, and color systems were adapted for large-format and physical use, ensuring consistency across digital and physical brand touchpoints. Every design decision was made with real-world scale, lighting, and attendee movement in mind.

Custom Interactive Feature: Plinko-Pop
A standout element of the booth was a custom-designed interactive game called Plinko-Pop. I concepted, designed, and 3D modeled the game from scratch, reimagining a classic Plinko-style experience with a playful twist. The pegs were designed as lollipops or cake pops, serving both as a visual hook and a physical prize to attract attendees.
I produced detailed drawings and build instructions so the game could be fabricated accurately, and it was successfully produced and used at the tradeshow as a central engagement feature.

Outcome
-
Booth concepts were successfully fabricated and installed
-
The final builds closely matched the original 3D mockups and layouts
-
The Plinko-Pop game became a focal point and engagement driver
-
The project demonstrated Applied Underwriters’ brand presence in a memorable, physical format
